DGC to Host A&E Northeast Management Summit

CPA firm brings together A&E industry thought leaders in Greater Boston marketplace for roundtable discussion

Woburn, MA   May 18, 2010 - DiCicco, Gulman & Company LLP (DGC), a CPA and business consulting firm specializing in the architecture and engineering (A&E) industry, will host the A&E Northeast Management Summit with ZweigWhite in Boston on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Boston Architectural College.

Keynote speaker Ian Rusk, President and CEO of ZweigWhite, will set the stage with a state-of-the-industry update. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on topics related to transition planning, exposure to risk, M&A activity and how smaller firms can compete, strategic alliances, pricing strategies and profitability, technology and more. The event is geared toward firm owners, principals and others who want to participate in a meaningful discussion about the challenges of managing an architectural or engineering firm in today's business environment.

Panelists include Michael Williams, Director of Programming with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Division of Capital Asset Management; Tom Alperin, President of National Development; George Christodoulo, Attorney with Lawson & Weitzen; Brett Gough, Senior Vice President and Partner at Ames & Gough; and David Sullivan, Partner in charge of the A&E group at DGC.

The event is a precursor to the release of DGC's 2010 Architectural Study. Each year, DGC experts analyze financial data from prominent firms in the Greater Boston region, focusing on operational performance metrics and identifying emerging trends.

"The past year was devastating for many firms, to say the least," said David M. Sullivan, CPA and Partner in charge of the A&E group at DGC. "It has substantially changed the way most firms do business. The purpose of this Summit is to give owners and principals a forum to voice their concerns, talk about the things that are keeping them up at night and be able to make informed decisions going forward."
